LEGISLATION/CONGRESS
It is likely the Democrats have 60 votes this week for their financial reform bill
When You Think About It, This is Pretty Huge
Senate Republicans on the Appropriations committee today gathered for a press conference where they declared for imposing separate five-year caps on both defense and non-defense discretionary spending. Think about it, many politicians fundraising bread and butter is made by sitting on the Appropriations Committee. This is an excellent sign they are getting the message from the American people that enough is enough.
HEALTH CARE
I Told You So Seems So Sad Right About Now
National Right to Life has discovered federal approval of a $160 million grant to Pennsylvania to directly fund abortions through the health care plan bill.
Apparently, this is likely the first instance of direct federal funding of abortion through what’s called the high risk insurance pools. Pennsylvania has already gotten approval from the Obama Administration for a grant to provide abortions to participants in these pools. It takes effect immediately. A great website to see how your state adds up in the earmark spending “game” can be found here.

ADMINISTRATION
Tea and No Sympathy
The NAACP, after hearing from first Lady Michelle Obama yesterday, is planning on passing a resolution today condemning the Tea Party. They neglect to mention how SEIU thugs beat up a guy while yelling racial slurs or the comments of the head of the New Black Panther Party attacking white people. The main focus seems to be going into the elections, where a number of groups on the left are planning a protest march in October – most, if not all, of the groups involved get government taxpayer dollars
Best reply from those representing Tea Party groups comes from Tea Party Express spokesman Levi Russell: “It’s time for the NAACP to grow up and stop hiding behind hypocritical race-baiting politics.”
What’s the definition of insanity again Mr. Einstein?
